Seasonal Animal Trainers

Natural Encounters, Inc., has Seasonal Animal Trainer openings for a motivated, creative and high energy individual who wants to grow their skills with a world renown animal training and educational facility.

POSITION SUMMARY

This temporary, hands-on position offers a unique opportunity to gain professional experience in the field of animal care and behavior. Seasonal Animal Trainers support the daily husbandry, enrichment, and behavioral training of our diverse bird collection, working alongside an experienced team in a variety of settings—ranging from behind-the-scenes care to guest-facing experiences. This position is limited to a maximum of 120 days per year, with a 39.5-hour work week.

Essential Functions:

  • Champion animal welfare by providing daily husbandry and care, including cleaning enclosures, preparing and distributing diets and implementing enrichment activities that promote well-being and natural behaviors.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior internship experience in an animal care facility preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Possesses string organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Has the willingness and ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Work in extreme heat – 90+ degrees
  • Work in a noisy and hectic environment
  • Lift up to 50lbs
  • Stand/walk up to 8+ hours per day

                $14.00 hourly rate for 39.5 hours per week without housing

$13.00 hourly rate for 39.5 hours per week with housing provided
