Animal shows are one of the primary tools that many facilities use to help connect guests with the animals that we care for. But what information are we sharing in these interactions, and how are we presenting it? In this presentation, we will explore some concepts that can help us take advantage of every opportunity to take these interactions to the next level.
This presentation will help you re-evaluate your own presentations by breaking down the components that make a show complete. It will help generate new ideas to add to an existing demonstration or inspire you to make some tweaks to change a good routine into a great one. The presentation will take a look at show structure and elements that make a show captivating and will use examples from other forms of entertainment to generate thoughts on how it can be applied in the world of bird shows. The presentation is designed to benefit people already doing bird shows but will also help with someone thinking about one as well.
Ambassador animal programs should be more than just “show and tell.” They are our opportunity to connect people to the natural world through storytelling, close encounters with interesting animals, and entertaining and inspirational presentations. This seminar provides insights into how to Engage, Inspire, and Empower people toward conservation action through carefully designed, produced and presented educational programs.
NEI TEC faculty members share and discuss their thoughts on the topics presented in the previous sessions. The panelists will answer questions presented to them by the attendees.
