Taylor was born and raised in North Carolina, where her passion for animals began at a young age. One of her favorite places to visit growing up was the North Carolina Zoo, which helped inspire her future career path. She went on to earn a degree in Zoo Science from Davidson County Community College, where she completed three internships that allowed her to work with a diverse range of animal species. In addition to her zoo experience, Taylor also worked at a dog daycare facility, where she developed an interest in animal behavior and training.
Taylor started her career with NEI as a seasonal trainer at Winged Encounters in late December 2020. NEI has given her the opportunity to learn and grow as a trainer, and she looks forward to continuing to build her skills and knowledge in the field. In her free time, Taylor enjoys exploring Florida’s natural areas, observing the local wildlife, and spending time with her family and pets.
